The American is a barcade and sports bar located at the intersection between Mount Pleasant, Strathcona and Chinatown neighbourhoods. We have the best selection of pinball games in the city along with football, basketball, pool and Buck Hunter. We’re also the home of sports, showing everything from NHL Hockey, NBA Basketball, Top European Soccer and NFL Sunday Ticket. Want us to put a game on? Just ask our staff.

Downlow Burgers

DownLow Burgers is brought to you by Doug Stephens and Lindsey Mann from DownLow Chicken Shack. All beef burgers are made with special dry-aged beef grind from Two Rivers Meats. Vegan options available as well!

We have a rotating selection of some of the best craft breweries in the city and with 14 taps we are sure to have something to wet your whistle. We have a fresh and exciting cocktail menu and we also offer a wide selection of beer and wine to go.

We don’t take same day reservations or reservations over the phone however we’re typically able to accommodate walk-ins!
We take reservations until 9PM Sun-Thurs and until 8PM on Fri/Sat. Bookings for the following day are cut off at 5PM.

For large groups (10-30 guests), back lounge bookings or event inquiries, please fill out this form with more details and our team will get back to you with more info. We don’t charge a deposit in advance however deposit information is collected for large groups to help alleviate last minute cancellations or no-shows.
